I’ve always been know for my neutral color hats in shades of taupe, cream, ivory and black. But this season I’ve created lots of colorful little hats for my collection. Some have bows, veiling and feathers, while others have modern sculptural trim. I’m using teardrop blocks made by an artist in the UK who works in wood. I provided him with drawings and dimensions of the shapes I wanted, so they were made for me alone. The Duchess of Cambridge is often seen wearing teardrop hats, which in the UK can cost thousands of dollars. I love these colorful little hats as they are so elegant and add a touch of sophistication to any outfit. They’re also lightweight and easy to pack when traveling. I consider them wearable little works of art, so most are one-of-a-kind. I love constantly creating new designs and would get bored with repetition. You don’t have to match an outfit, as the hat can be a contrasting or complementary shade, adding a pop of color.   So this season Let There Be Color!
